Our Team

Dr. Neal Suares, Medical Director, joined the Leland Medical Clinic staff in September 2015. Dr. Suares sees patients at Leland Medical every other Thursday, by appointment only. He treats patients of all ages from newborn to the elderly, providing quality care to all. In addition to serving as medical director, Dr. Suares has his own practice, Neal Suares, M.D., Family Practice, located in Gamble Brothers Clinic and has full hospital privileges at Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville. Dr. Suares received his medical degree from St. Matthew’s School of Medicine in 2006, and completed his Family Practice Residency at University of Mississippi School of Medicine in 2009. Dr. Suares is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and currently serves on the Foundation Board of the Mississippi Academy of Family Physicians.

Lacie Arrington, FNP, is a welcomed addition to the Leland Medical Clinic. She brings to the clinic expertise in providing well care and preventative health services, as well as managing patients of all ages with chronic and acute illness. As a vital part of the Leland Medical’s PCMH team, Mrs. Arrington will provide quality care using the most up to date protocols in care. Lacie completed her Nurse Practitioner training at the Mississippi University for Women in 2012. Prior her employment with Leland Medical, Mrs. Arrington worked as Nurse Practitioner at Hollandale Family Care, P.C. She welcomes her former patients to join her at Leland Medical.

Heather Lloyd, Family Nurse Practitioner, has served patients at Leland Medical Clinic since 2016 (and previously in 2013 – 14) bringing 12 years of experience as a FNP.  Mrs. Lloyd specializes in chronic disease management as a vital part of the Patient Centered Medical Home team at Leland Medical Clinic.  She also has experience in chronic pain management, treatment of cardiovascular patients, and has work in as a FNP with the Veterans Administration Outpatient clinic in Greenville.  Mrs. Lloyd holds a Master in Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner and RN-BSN from Delta State University.

Cay Brooks Ely, PMHNP-BC, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for children, adolescents, and adults sees patients at Leland Medical by appointment only every Tuesday. She offers assessments, psychiatric diagnosis, medication management with a treatment plan and ongoing patient care with the goal of educating patient and families to promote good mental health. Mrs. Ely provides the highest standard of care and practice protocols along with current and emerging research to provide the best possible outcome for the treatment of the following: ADHD, anxiety, autistic spectrum disorder, bipolar disorder, conduct disorder, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, psychosis, and schizophrenia. Cay Ely obtained her nurse practitioner degree from the University of South Alabama, including the recognition of Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing. In addition to her nursing experience, Mrs. Ely has extensive experience in pharmaceutical sales and launching new medicines to physicians.

Brooks Ann Gaston, Associate Vice President Clinic Services, took over LMC operations in 2017.  Prior to this position, Ms. Gaston has worked on various projects with Delta Health Alliance including Implementation Director for Deer Creek Promise Community, Project Director for DHA’s Delta Home Visiting Initiative targeting families with children prenatal to age 5, and Project Director for Health and Literacy working on early and adult literacy, church-based health programs, weekend backpack feeding programs for students, and tobacco cessation.  Ms. Gaston also served as a Project Manager for the Center for Medicare and Medicaid’s Southeastern Diabetes Initiative tackling diabetes issues in the Delta.  Ms. Gaston holds a degree from Delta State University.


Lee Whittington, Patient Centered Medical Home Manager, will work closely with LMC management to ensure the clinic’s NCQA Patient Centered Medical Home standards.  She has vast experience in the medical arena from Electronic Health Records, Radiology, and best practices in assisting providers in staff in achieving Meaningful Use standards. Previously with Delta Health Alliance, she worked closely with the 21st Century Clinic project which consisted of working with 4 Delta clinics in providing medical services to the working uninsured. Mrs. Whittington has clinical experience working with Comprehensive Pain Specialists, Portable Medical Diagnostics, LLC, and with clinics in the Jackson area. Mrs. Whittington holds a BS in Radiologic Technology from the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
